Episode 01: Akai Wiener to Tamagoyaki (Fried Weiner and Sweet Rolled Omelet)
Marilyn: Men have to be good with their fingers.
Komichi: Sushi restaurants serve tamagoyaki (sweet rolled omelet). Soba restaurants serve dashimaki (soup stok rolled omelet).
Master: Kosuzu, would you like some fried weiner?
Kosuzu: No. They’re only delicious if I take them from Ryu’s plate.
Master: Ryu said the same thing (about sweet rolled omelet).
Kosuzu: You’re always quick to fall in love, and quick to fall out of it. You’ll never find a good man that way.
?: As they say, "you should never judge a book by its cover."
Kosuzu: We all have a cherished memory locked away at the bottom of our hearts.
Kosuzu: It may require more work, but why not give it a try?
Kosuzu: (To make tamagoyaki or sweet rolled omelet), lightly scramble the eggs in the frying pan for a fluffier omelet. Roll the omelet towards you. Move the omelet to one side before starting the next layer. Pop the bubbles that appear with your chopsticks.
Episode 02: Neko Mamma (Rice with Bonito Flakes and Soy Sauce)
Chidori Miyuki: I go wherever life takes me. I leave everything to chance. Ever since I was a child, and now that I’ve grown. I go wherever life takes me.
Sakushika: “I go wherever life takes me. I leave everything to chance. Ever since I was a child, and now that I’ve grown. I go wherever life takes me.”
Episode 03: Ochazuke (Rice with Tea)
Master: Can’t women be friends?
June: Never, not as long as men exist.
Miki: As you get older, you start to get pigheaded about the silliest of things.
Miki: I just can’t let things go. I wonder why? It never works out, but I can’t help it.
Master: I’m not one to talk, but I think you’re overthinking it.
Master: Life is simple, like ochazuke (rice with tea). You don’t need a logical reason for every single thing. We enjoy delicious food. Isn’t that good enough?
Episode 04: Potato Salad
Episode 05: Butter Rice
Episode 06: Katsudon
Episode 07: Tamago Sando (Egg Sandwich)
Episode 08: Sauce Yakisoba
Episode 09: Aji no Hiraki (Horse Mackerel)
Yachiyo, also known as Rose Michiyo: You shouldn't let greed get the better of you, for starters. It will only ruin the experience, and blind you into making wrong choices.
Episode 10: Ramen
?: Only you can change your destiny.
Master: We can't undo the mistakes we've made. But we can decide what we want to do about it.
Hayashi Gen: But it's too late for me.
Master: That's just an excuse for those who don't want to try.
Katagiri: When I start to get comfortable, I get the urge to go somewhere else.
Master: It must be hard living like that.
Katagiri: I know, but I can't help it.
Master: Life is like the Modori River. You wander, lose your way, and come back.
Master: Don't underestimate life.
