SYNOPSIS
Daimon Michiko is a brilliant surgeon who works freelance. Michiko is averse to social relationships, authority, and constraints. She has a detailed employment contract where it is stated that she will not do any work that does not require a medical license, she will only work for eight hours from 8am to 5pm, and she will receive extra payment if she is required to work outside her normal work hours.

The  National Advanced Medical Center is divided in two major factions, the East Hospital and the West Hospital. Both are intending to take over the presidency of the center's council, which consequently means ruling over the medical community in Japan.

Both the East Hospital and West Hospital have people who have worked with Michiko in the past, and they are aware of her exemplary skills as a surgeon. In order to get an edge over the competition, the respective teams are offering Michiko a permanent employment contract so they can increase their accomplishments.

REVIEW
I really like Doctor X ~ Gekai Daimon Michiko ~ because it is one of those dramas that made me think twice about a lot of things; from doctors and hospitals to relationships and societal norms. It has definitely challenged my assumptions about doctors and hospitals.

This time around, Daimon Michiko had to deal with political factions at work, where the doctors are divided into two groups depending on what area of Japan they were from or from what university they went to.

In a way, it seemed weird to see doctors in a hospital divided into two factions based on their area of origin. I would assume that doctors would most likely group themselves with people from the same specialty.

Anyway, Doctor X 3 ~ Gekai Daimon Michiko ~highlighted for me that people cannot always be categorized as either good or evil. Although there are some people who are either inherently good or inherently evil all of the time, most people would usually fall in the area in between.

Usually, a person's actions may seem either good or evil because we don't get the whole picture. But later on, when we are privy to more information about the person or the situation, we realize that we were quite mistaken.
