REVIEW
엘 L, 김예림 Kim Ye Rim - Love You, Like You (Love U Like U)
I initially thought that Shut Up: Flower Boy Band would focus on music and I wasn't particularly excited about that premise because most of the musically-oriented dramas I have watched are less than satisfactory. I love theater musicals so when it comes to musical productions, I do have somewhat high standards.

However, this is a story about a group of teenagers and how they deal with friendship, relationships, their passion for music, and their future plans. They each have to figure out what they want to do with their own lives and perhaps accept that it may be time to separate from their friends who are also going on their own ways.

I really like this drama because the plot is well-written and all the characters are well-developed. It's nice that almost every scene in the drama is relevant to the bigger picture, which is not something you can say for most dramas who have a lot of filler scenes.

I like most of the characters in the drama because they are very real. Even the characters I didn't think I could relate to, I did understand where they are coming from because in some ways, you can identify with them. I especially like how the female characters in the drama are independent, assertive and straightforward about their feelings.

I'm a little disappointed that Kwon Ji Hyuk decided to drop out of school and instead focus on music full-time. I'm not saying that finishing school is the only way to become successful but I don't know, finishing at least high school seemed to be the one task people generally must accomplish before becoming adults. I can't say I'm behind Ji Hyuk's decision on this one but I suppose I have to give him credit for giving the matter serious consideration before coming up with his decision.
