Segawa Rio, a quick-acting detective, gets transferred to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police’s Violent Crimes Division after she got shot during her previous case.

Rio is assigned to work together with Nagumo Jun, a level-headed but eccentric psychology professor whose skills at behavioral analysis are the key to tracking down the criminals.

REVIEW
I am very interested in psychology so I found Control ~Hanzai Shinri Sōsa~ interesting based on its premise. I've always known that psychology is important in people's daily lives so I'm also convinced of its relevance in analyzing and solving criminal cases.

I don't really like Segawa Rio, which is unfortunate because she is the lead character. I don't really know why I don't like her, probably because I don't understand her and I can't tell what she's thinking or feeling.

I like Nagumo Jun even though he's an eccentric character probably because he seems real. He is a college professor and some of the theories in psychology used in the drama are explained as he is conducting his lectures to students, which is an ingenious way of inserting the explanations in the drama's narrative.

Nagumo Jun: However, what I want you all to focus on is not the reckless woman detective, who might be pretty, that was shot but the surrounding people. The situation is very interesting. First of all, because of the loud noise of the train passing by, it is surmised that the gunshot was not heard. Therefore, many of the people who were at the scene didn't know the reason why this woman suddenly collapsed at that place. Moreover, they had no way of knowing that this person was a detective. What's interesting here is that this scene, indeed, became the perfect opportunity to prove the social impact theory. For instance, if there were only two or three people there at the scene, those people would probably immediately rush over to her and try to help her. However, in the midst of a mass crowd, the movement of other people trying to help (when a person collapses) is drastically reduced... In other words, this is caused by the social impact theory; one of the group psychology effect that occurs when a large group of people gather in one space is the dispersion of responsibility. The instance that responsibility is dispersed to many individuals,  these individuals conform to those around them and hesitate to take action, thinking 'Someone else will do it'.
