SYNOPSIS
Seo Byung Hoon was a renowned theater director who now owns and manages Cyrano Dating Agency. Byung Hoon does not believe in love and he attributes his success at work to his cynicism and scientific approach to relationships. The agency's employees are technologically adept Moo Jin and high school student Ah Rang.
The three guys conduct research on their clients and their targets, and engineer situations for their clients to engage their targets in order for romance to possibly blossom between the clients and their targets.
Gong Min Young is a newly hired employee in the agency. She is an idealist when it comes to romance and relationships.
REVIEW
I think it will be quite interesting to work at a dating agency, specifically Seo Byung Hoon's version. Do companies like that really exist, and how do they recruit employees? I'm really interested with the work they do, and I think I can be quite good at it with my wild imagination and crazy ideas.
Honestly though, I am a little conflicted with the existence of Byung Hoon's version of dating agency in real life. It seems acceptable for it to exist in a fictional world but it somehow seems unacceptable for it to exist in the real world.
I think there's generally nothing wrong with what the company is doing because they assess the feelings of all parties involved before taking a case, and essentially they have good intentions about their work. However, if I was a target of one of their clients, I can't help but feel manipulated and I suppose I will definitely question everything that has happened, including my feelings and actions and reactions.
The focus on mini stories work on Dating Agency Cyrano because they are a company who work for a client for a specific period. Other dramas who don't really know better should take note that this is one way you can get away with focusing on unrelated mini stories within a production, and this is one way to utilize many actors who are only appearing in the production as a guest spot or as a special participation feature.
