SYNOPSIS
Wang Xiao Xia is juggling multiple odd jobs so she can take responsibility for her nephew Wang Yang Guang, which was left in her care by her good-for-nothing older brother Wang Man Li.
She had a misunderstanding with her landlord, and Xiao Xia had to leave her apartment with her nephew. Desperate and homeless, she accepted devious Chen Hao Jie's offer to pretend to be his girlfriend in front of his family in exchange for a place to stay.
Xiao Xia goes to the Chen family restaurant to meet Hao Jie's father Chen Quan, and his younger brothers Chen Hao Feng and Chen Li Yang. Because of his cooking skills and responsible demeanor, second son Hao Feng is the head chef of the restaurant and the unofficial head of the family.
REVIEW
Love Actually had a lot of potential to be good, but it fell short in many ways. It wasn't exactly awful, but it wasn't something special either.
I don't think you should watch the drama unless you're a fan of any of the actors and you want to watch all of the productions they participated in. Otherwise, you're not missing anything if you don't watch it, and it may be better to utilize your time to watch other more entertaining films.
Love Actually was more disappointing because it had lead actors that had amazing chemistry with each other. It's such a shame that they were underutilized with the roles they were given, when they could have shined if the drama had a better plot and if they were handed better characters.
The writing was somewhat tolerable in the first half of the drama, but it went downhill fast in the second half. The scriptwriter must have been out of his mind if he thought I would accept that drunk Chen Hao Feng kissed his ex-girlfriend Tang Xing Hui because he was hallucinating that Xing Hui was Wang Xiao Xia.
Even if let's say, his mistake was understandable, I would think that he would have felt through the kisses that he was kissing a different girl. So when Hao Feng kept kissing the wrong person, I wondered if he really couldn't identify the person he is being intimate with and if that's the case, then why not?!
Anyway, to be honest, I only watched the whole thing because I love Xiao Xia's clothes and accessories. The character wore gorgeous dresses even though she's supposed to be quite poor.
