Sid meets Aisha Banerjee at a party, and he's intrigued the more he got to know her. Aisha is an aspiring writer who just arrived to Mumbai that day, and Sid is her first friend in the city.

Aisha lived her whole life in Calcutta, and she went alone to Mumbai to live independently and to follow her dreams.

REVIEW
Wake Up Sid - Kya Karoon?
Wake Up Sid is a story about a boy becoming a man. Carefree Sidharth Mehra, also known as Sid, came to care about a lot of things over the course of a few weeks; his parents who doted on him, his friends who stayed with him through thick or thin, a career he is passionate about, and a woman who helped him become a better person.

I think Sid is representative of his generation; specifically the ones who had it easier in life because their parents worked hard to provide them with everything they could ever need. They don't need to work right away because they need to financially support their families, and so they wander aimlessly through life.

Aisha Banerjee is the complete opposite of Sid because she's independent, self-sufficient, and driven. But I think even Aisha is privileged in some way, because she can afford to think about being independent.

Aisha Banerjee: Do you know the feeling when you cook your own food, make your own money, and spend your own money... live a life you've made for yourself? Independence! Know what I mean?

There are some people who don't have time to think about what they're going to do or what they want their lives to be. They don't have many options in life, and they tend to grab any opportunity that comes their way because they need to earn money just to survive.

Anyway, I appreciate how Sid knows the city of Mumbai inside and out. There are certainly bad aspects of living in such a huge and congested city, and he knows about it, but he also finds it's good points.

Sidharth Mehra, also known as Sid: Listen, this is Bombay. It's never late here. And you know what? The city is at its best at night; (there's) less traffic, less heat... You really should have been out there right now.

I love living in metropolitan areas that have good pedestrian access, because I love walking aimlessly. I sometimes prefer walking compared to bringing a car, if you can believe it. And where I'm from, walking is better compared to taking public transportation.

Wake Up Sid has a great soundtrack, and the music was featured in the relevant scenes. I think it is the only Indian film I watched without any musical productions and choreographed dances.
