SYNOPSIS
Lee Kang Hyun works as a matchmaker and when she applied into a company that specializes in matchmaking previously divorced individuals, she had to lie about being divorced because the company's management feels that divorced matchmakers are in a better position to understand and matchmake the company's target clients.
Kang Hyun's office is sharing office space with the office of a law practice that specializes in divorce cases. Kang Hyun's boss President Ryu was previously married to Attorney Yoon Hye Sun, a partner in the law office that specializes in divorce.
Kang Hyun falls in love with Park Hyun Soo, one of the lawyers in the law office. Hyun Soo is a divorced man and given that everyone who works in the matchmaking agency in the building are divorced, he mistakenly assumes that Kang Hyun is also previously married.
REVIEW
Love Marriage is very refreshing in the sense that the heroine is more flawed than usual. Lee Kang Hyun is good at her work but she makes mistakes all the time; she's a nice person but there are also moments where she's rude to some people; and although she tries to look perfect in front of the guy she's dating, she's always unintentionally embarrassing herself.
Park Hyun Soo is almost an ideal man except he's already tried the marriage thing and he has already failed. He was previously married to Seo Hwa Young, a seemingly ideal woman, and it seemed they were a match made in heaven but things didn't work out for them and they had to go their separate ways.
Kang Hyun was in a long-term relationship with Yin Kyung Hwan, a younger guy who can't seem to graduate from law school. They've been together for so long that everyone around them just assumed they will eventually get married. However, after spending a long time with each other, they end up growing apart instead of growing closer.
The drama presents some familiar situations and relationships from different perspectives. The situations, relationships, and people in the drama are realistic and flawed.
It's great that the drama talks about divorce, and how the society views divorce and divorced people. Although divorce is quite common in some Asian countries, it still has negative connotations because most people see it as a sign of failure.
