SYNOPSIS
SP or Security Police have the duty to protect. It is a group of professional bodyguards that safeguard important people, even if it means sacrificing their own lives at times.
Inoue Kaoru works as a security police and he is exceptionally good at his job. Together with his team, he tries to protect his charges to the best of his ability and he intends to keep his charges alive as long as he is responsible for their safety.
REVIEW
SP is basically a summary of everything that happened in the drama and a sort of introduction that bridges the drama with the succeeding productions in the SP series, in particular the ＳＰ 野望篇 SP Yabō Hen movie.
Inoue Kaoru has the uncanny ability to sense when people have evil thoughts and intend to harm or kill other people. He had worked with his boss Ogata Soichiro for quite some time but he has not sensed anything suspicious about his superior until the end of this production. I wonder if it's because his boss recruited him and trained him as an SP so he trusted him and believed that he's a good person.
But then again, it could also mean that Kaoru has not sensed anything suspicious about his superior because his boss is extremely skilled in having a poker face and hiding his real thoughts. I think that is what's scary about double agents, they are so good in masking their real selves that you can't quite get an accurate reading of their true personalities and you can't quite determine where their true loyalties lie.
It was disheartening to see Kaoru suddenly realize that there seems to be something not quite right with his boss. However, I think it's good that he trusted his instincts right away instead of being in denial or second-guessing his instincts.
Kaoru needs to step up his game because his boss taught him everything he knows about his job. In order to find out the truth and to catch his boss, he will need to become better than his mentor.
