SYNOPSIS
嵐 - I'll Be ThereNot much is known about Kizoku Tantei or the Noble Detective; no one knows his real name, his age, and his occupation (though he does not appear to work). His hobby is doing detective work and because of his connections, he often appears in the crime scenes of mysterious cases.
However, he doesn't seem to do the actual leg work, and entrusts his servants -- the butler Yamamoto, the driver Sato, and the maid Tanaka -- to do the investigations for him.
Rookie detective Kotoku Aika happens to also work on the mysterious cases that Kizoku Tantei is working on. Aika is proud of being a detective, and she's repulsed that Kizoku Tantei doesn't act like one even though he calls himself as such.
REVIEW
Kizoku Tantei is an interesting drama about a nobleman who does detective work as a hobby, but he makes his people (specifically his butler, his driver, and his maid) to do all the investigative work. Kizoku Tantei may seem that he's not doing any work, but I think he's very fast at doing deductions and analysis. It's also possible that he'd rather not do things and assign the dirty work to other people, because why not?!
It's disconcerting to hear Kizoku Tantei talk about how his servants are his tools to accomplish things, because although he may be right in the strictest sense, it's awful to see people as things. I mean, I think people would much rather hear themselves described as helpers, someone who helps another person, as opposed to tools.
Anyway, I love how little is known about Kizoku Tantei such as his real name and age, and other personal information. In this day and age when information is all over the place, it's amazing how there's not much data about Kizoku Tantei that ordinary people can access even online.
I don't think it's a matter of being secretive or having something to hide. Personally, I don't think we have to tell people everything about ourselves. In fact, just because people ask us questions, we don't have to provide detailed answers and I think we can even choose to not give an answer if we wish to. I think we can choose to share information with other people on a need-to-know basis; if they don't need to know a particular information, then I'm fine keeping it to my myself.
