SYNOPSIS
The drama is set in modern times where South Korea is governed by a constitutional monarchy. Lee Jae Ha is the younger brother of King Lee Jae Kang. He is happy-go-lucky and immature, and he couldn't care less about politics and responsibilities.
Kim Hang Ah is a North Korean special forces agent. She is part of the North Korean elite officers who will join South Korean elite officers in competing for the world officer championships.
REVIEW
The King 2 Hearts tackles the sensitive issue of reconciliation of two territories. Although the topic was complicated and the resolution inadequate, I felt positive about the humankind as a whole and hopeful for the future.
It's frustrating that there are several aspects of the drama's plot that did not make any logical sense but I'm choosing to overlook it because the drama's good points far outweigh its bad points. If you take the drama's plot at face value and if you do not analyze everything that happened, you can enjoy watching the drama.
This is the drama where I realized that Lee Seung Gi can act. I've watched some of his dramas prior to this one and although he was charming in those dramas, his acting was just passable. I suppose it helps that his character Lee Jae Ha is a very complex and interesting character. Seung Gi has managed to still make Jae Ha relatable and endearing in spite of his many faults and I really think this is no easy feat considering Jae Ha's characterization.
