SYNOPSIS
Mineta Chisato is homeless and she sleeps on internet cafes. She spent her whole life running away and hiding from her father's debtors.
While running away from the debt collectors one day, she meets Okura Shinzo who is the president of a large corporation. President Okura's family is extremely rich and he has adopted six sons, hoping that one of them would become his successor.
President Okura tells Chisato that he will pay off all her debts if she marries him and becomes the mother of his sons.
REVIEW
Atashinchi no Danshi has a really weird story. Mineta Chisato married the president so that she will be the mother figure to his six adopted sons, of which the eldest is actually his illegitimate son.
However, it seemed that all six guys are actually romantically interested in Chisato at least for some time. I know she's not really the mother of the six guys but I really found it confusing when she was supposed to be a mother figure and then the guys are actually in love with her. I don't know what to make of it, really.
Chisato had to live in a very strange house and although she's the mistress of the house, her staff does not seem to respect her and obey her. It was really weird how she's supposed to have the power because she's the employer but in reality, she doesn't have enough authority to exercise control over the staff.
Horikita Maki was not very impressive in her role which is very disappointing given that she's the main lead of the drama. However, I should be honest and say that I don't really like her and her acting. Other people may beg to differ, and I'll accept it as differing opinions on my part, but I can't really get behind her and her acting.
What I do appreciate about the drama is its concept of family. The guys have different personalities and some of them even hate each other but over time, they grew fond of each other and accepted each other. I like that the drama talks about how family is a group of people who love and care for each other, it doesn't really matter whether these people are related by blood or not.
