SYNOPSIS
Lawyer Komikado Kensuke is stubborn, sarcastic, and moody. A genius at negotiation and building strategy, he has never lost a case in his life. Winning is everything to Kensuke.

Mayuzumi Machiko is a young lawyer who passed the bar exam by studying hard. She has a strong sense of justice and she is determined to save the innocent. Machiko intends to practice law without compromising her convictions.

Their law firm is the legal counsel for a prestigious private hospital that is being sued for medical malpractice. A widow sued the hospital and the hospital directors for giving her husband experimental medicine that is not yet approved in Japan, and for causing his death.

REVIEW
Legal High is about lawyers and the law; its positive aspects as well as its negative aspects, and its strengths as well as its weaknesses. It's a very interesting drama to watch but if you're an optimistic and hopeful person, it may be possible that you'll become pessimistic and resigned. At the very least, you may become jaded about people and you may lose hope in humanity a little bit.

Nothing has really changed in this drama sequel when it comes to its lead characters really; lawyer Komikado Kensuke is still detestable but brilliant, lawyer Mayuzumi Machiko is still idealistic and has hideous style, and their law firm is still handling difficult cases.

The drama is about medical malpractice lawsuits. Although there are instances wherein hospitals and doctors are knowingly and willfully putting patients in danger, there are also instances wherein that is not the case.

In situations wherein patients have no other options, they may be willing to try experimental drugs or untested treatment procedures. They will even consent to be part of research studies and medical testing, just so they can do something.

Patients are always hopeful that they will get better, and their families are always anticipating that the condition of their loved ones will improve. However, it is always a risky endeavor.

When it comes to research studies and medical testing, the outcomes of all participants are taken into account, whether the patients get better or whether the treatments have no effect whatsoever on their conditions or whether they get worse. This information will definitely help in the advancement of science and medicine.

Of course, this is no consolation to patients who have died, especially if they could have possibly lived longer had they not taken untested drugs or undergone experimental treatments. And grieving families usually won't be comforted by the fact that their loved one's death contributed to the development in the medical field.

Komikado Kensuke: The most dangerous opponent is someone who has nothing to lose.

Komikado Kensuke: Don't they say, "money never hurts"?

Komikado Kensuke: If you don't fight back, the world thinks you are beaten.

Miki Choichiro: When there's no bullet in your gun, use your opponent's.

Hattori ?: However, this is Hirose Fumiya's truth, isn't it? ... Well, I mean, his truth hasn't been confirmed yet. That's what I think.
