SYNOPSIS

嵐 Arashi - 迷宮ラブソング Meikyū Rabu Songu (Love Song)

Hosho Reiko is the only daughter of the owner of Hosho Group, a major international enterprise. She hides her true identity as an heiress when she's on the job as a rookie police officer.

Reiko's personal butler Kageyama is a perfectionist and he takes care of all of Reiko's needs, from driving her around to managing the household. Reiko talks about her cases to Kageyama during dinner, and he helps her solve the cases after dinner.

For her long-awaited vacation, Reiko goes on the Superstar Virgo cruise liner on its last voyage. She has fond memories of the ship, also known as Princess Reiko, because she had stayed in it eighteen years ago.

REVIEW
Nazotoki wa Dinner no Ato de could be a fun watch, or rather it is, if you try not to over-analyze things. It can get boring at times because nothing would really make sense until Kageyama goes on a lengthy explanatory speech near the end of the movie.

Hosho Reiko and her superior Kazamatsuri Kyoichiro are from illustrious backgrounds who have chosen to become police detectives rather than work in their respective family businesses. Although they are both from the privileged class, Reiko is classy and sophisticated in a low-key manner but Kyoichiro loudly boasts about his ostentatious lifestyle.

In a nutshell, Reiko and Kyoichiro are both celebrities and police detectives. However, they are both terribly inefficient in their jobs that it's a wonder how they even managed to pass the screening process. What's even worse is that they need the assistance of Reiko's butler Kageyama so they can do their jobs properly.

There's nothing wrong with being a butler, but I wonder why Kageyama is a butler when he seems to be exceptionally qualified in many other occupations. He could definitely succeed as a police detective, especially since he is essentially working as one as he's basically doing Reiko's job for her.

In the movie, Reiko met someone who could have been like her except fate hasn't been kind. Reiko feels sorry for that person, but Kageyama told Reiko that she shouldn't feel that way.

Kageyama ?: People are often bound by their past or their social standing in life. However, we can only live as we are now, doing our best to shine as ourselves. That is, each person is trying to live the happiest life they can live. Do not forget that.

I think it's nice how he said although there are some things in life that are out of our control, we can always choose to be happy wherever we are and whatever our current situation may be.
