SYNOPSIS
It has been two years since then... Nodate Shinjiro, who has risen to become the counselor as a result of the performance of Osawa Eriko and the unit, accepts an important case with the intention of securing another promotion. And, so he revives the Special Crimes Unit.
REVIEW
The original cast are back for Boss 2 and that's one of the best things about this drama sequel. I don't really like it when a project is called a sequel and although the characters are the same, the cast are different. I think it's because to fully be on board the continuity of the premise, it would be great if the characters have the same faces; which is the case in this drama.
There are a couple of new characters but it took some time to warm up to these characters because either they have a weird personality or they have an attitude problem. Their presence in the team also made the atmosphere somewhat awkward.
I really like the friendship between Nodate Shinjiro and Osawa Eriko. It's amazing that they have remained close throughout the years even though Eriko spent most of the time away abroad. No matter how much time have passed, it seemed that they could always count on each other to watch each other's backs.
The cases are still interesting and I still felt like I was part of Eriko's team tasked with solving the crimes and finding the perpetrators. There were enough twists and turns in the development of the story that I was kept in suspense, trying to make sense of things.
Tamayama Tesuji as Katagiri Takuma and Nukumizu Yōichi as Yamamura Keisuke appeared on 幸せになろうよ Shiawase ni Narō yo, another drama. I was quite surprised and it was not a common occurrence so one of the pictures I used in that drama's review is their guest appearance.
