REVIEW
I like Lie to Me, and I wish it had continued on. It would have been great if the television series had more seasons and episodes. It was one of the very interesting productions I've seen in a long time, and I wish similar productions will be aired in the future.
I really like how informative it has been in providing insights on people's thoughts and emotions based from their actions and expressions. I'm not certain how accurate the information is actually, especially since some information provided in the television series contrast that which seems common knowledge, but it was still such a fun experience to think about it.
It is widely known that people who lie tend to look to up and to the left, an unconsicous action that indicates they are thinking hard about the lie and working hard to make their lies believeable. However, in this production, it indicates that people who lie tend to stare at the person they are talking to closely in order to check if these people are believing the lies. It seems to be a logical explanation.
Cal Lightman: When I asked James about his best race, he broke eye contact in order to remember an answer truthfully. When I asked him about his run on the night of the murder, he never broke eye contact. He wasn't recalling a memory; he was lying.
Assistant US Attorney Hutchinson: But I thought most people avoid eye contact when they're lying?
Cal Lightman: No, it's a myth. And quite often, they make more eye contact. They need to watch to see if you believe their lies.

What I especially like about the television series is the snapshots of political leaders and celebrities doing the actions and expressions being discussed in the particular situation. It was really nice that the production were able to provide some evidence to back up the theories and research.
Cal Lightman: Scorn... Shame... Contempt...
Cal Lightman: These expressions are universal. Emotion looks the same whether you're a suburban housewife or a suicide bomber. The truth is written on all our faces.
