SYNOPSIS
嚴爵 Yán Jué - 打噴嚏 Dǎ Pēntì (Sneeze)
Executive manager Gao Cheng Kuan is known in the business community for his expertise in mergers and acquisitions. He believes that talented people are the key to success, and he's quick to dismiss incompetent employees who are not doing their jobs well.

After a small mistake at work causes Cheng Kuan to incur a loss of NT$30 million, his boss assigns Cheng Kuan to turn around a small troubled company that they have recently acquired. After observing the employees for a short while, Cheng Kuan has determined the one person who knows the ins and outs of the problematic company's operations.

Luo Si Yi works as a secretary, but she's actually silently responsible for all corporate matters in her company. Si Yi was deeply hurt by a failed relationship in the past and she hasn't really moved on, so she devoted all her time to her work instead.

Si Yi's best friend Zhong Xiao Ke asked Si Yi to go to the fortune teller so they can get their fortunes told. Si Yi gets angry when the fortune teller predicted that she is destined to become a spinster, and Si Yi makes a bet with the fortune teller: Si Yi will have a wedding within a year, or she will give the fortune teller NT$1 million if she is not married within twelve months.

REVIEW
丁当 Dīng Dāng (Della) - 好難得 Hǎo Nándé (One In A Thousand) (So Rare)
Miss Rose is an entertaining drama but I didn't like it all that much, and it wasn't for a lack of trying on my part. The production didn't grab me on a deeper level although the characters are somewhat well-written, most of the actors did a decent job of portraying their characters, and the story is relatively satisfactory.

It's a pity that Gao Cheng Kuan and Luo Si Yi have zero chemistry whatsoever, because I think that's what's missing in this drama. I know Roy Qiu has perfected those longing looks and loving stares over time, so I don't know why it's not working this time around.

Cheng Kuan is presented as someone who has no heart, and who is all about business and money. One of his faults is being strict with his employees in terms of results, and firing incompetent and ineffective people without ever thinking twice.

Gao Cheng Kuan: Life is like a game of cards. The hand that is dealt you is determinism, the way you play it is free will.

I don't understand why expecting employees to do their job, and demanding excellent performance from employees is recognized as a fault in this drama. I suppose Cheng Kuan can be more polite when dealing with business associates and he can be more compassionate to his staff but other than that, I don't see his supposed negative qualities as such.

I should probably qualify that I think like Cheng Kuan, and I'm similar to him in terms of disposition to some extent, so I'm not exactly being quite objective regarding this matter.

I like the drama's theme song but it always makes me laugh when the "achoo, achoo" part of the lyrics comes on. I never thought I'd actually get to hear a song about sneezes, much less like it, so that's something.
