SYNOPSIS
Chiaki Shinichi wins a prestigious international competition and he becomes the new permanent conductor for Roux Marlet Orchestra. Although the orchestra has a long and illustrious history, the current orchestra is managed poorly due to lack of funding.

Noda Megumi or Nodame prepares for her graduation exam and she aims to get a high grade. Her future plans include competing in international competitions and performing with Shinichi's orchestra.

REVIEW
I like Nodame Cantabile because it's a way to educate people about classical music and a way to encourage people to appreciate orchestra. I don't know a lot about classical music but I really like the movie's soundtrack.

Chiaki Shinichi and Noda Megumi, or Nodame, are still pursuing their dreams in Paris, France. I still miss the other characters in the drama but I have already accepted the fact that I won't see them in this production.

Although Shinichi won first place in a prestigious international competition, he wasn't hired by any renowned orchestra. His non-employment is made worse by the fact that the person who won second place was hired by a well-known orchestra soon after the competition ended. Shinichi must be utterly humiliated at the time but it's good that his confidence in himself and in his abilities are not shattered.

Roux Marlet Orchestra had an illustrious history but it is currently in a despairing condition. Shinichi even accidentally found out that the main reason why the orchestra hired him as the new permanent conductor is because of his lack of experience, which means his fees are cheaper than other established orchestra conductors.

Shinichi has the overwhelming task of restoring the orchestra to its former glory. However, he has to work with musicians who have family obligations and responsibilities. The musicians only have a very limited time to dedicate to training although they are passionate about music. I really admire the musicians for still pursuing their passions even though it is easier to just forget music and focus on work and family responsibilities.

I'm enjoying the interactions between Yasunori Kuroki and Tanya Vishnyova. I'm glad they are featured longer in the movie and I really hope they get more screen time in the next and last installment of the Nodame Cantabile series.
