SYNOPSIS
Shibata Michiko is thirty years old but she doesn't have a stable job and she has no savings. She is also in a lot of debt because she chooses to support a much younger man who goes out with her for money.

When Michiko desperately took a canned cat food that was meant for stray cats, she runs into Kurosawa Ayumu, her former boss who is very strict and has high standards. Ayumu was always scolding Michiko for not doing her work properly, that her first instinct when she sees him is to run the other way.

Ayumu is concerned that Michiko is struggling with a lot of issues and he couldn't leave her alone, so he takes her to his own business Himawari Cafe. He feeds her good food and he offers her a part-time job. Ayumu won't be able to pay her a lot, but he will give her free meals, even guaranteeing to always have her favorite meat on the table.

REVIEW
Dame na Watashi ni Koishite Kudasai is an interesting drama about a woman who is far from normal, if normal means having a stable job and being in a good relationship that leads to marriage.

To be fair, Shibata Michiko is really a very unusual woman in the sense that she spends all her money on men, and she even goes into debt for them. She's not only careless with her money, it's even up to the point that she spends for other people what she couldn't afford to do so for herself.

Anyway, the drama discusses how difficult it is for older women to look for a new job, especially if they don't have any substantial credentials or relevant work experience. Sometimes, I think it's also hard for women even if they have the necessary education and the appropriate training, and I can't really explain why that is so because I don't understand it myself.

Dame na Watashi ni Koishite Kudasai also addresses how even women who are successful in their respective careers have major concerns about their personal lives, such as whether they'll maintain a serious relationship with a special someone or not, or whether they will get married or not, or whether they will have children or not.
